This one is somewhat of a “full circle” painting for me. “La estrella”
Back when I was a student in Mexico, I used to sketch this piece in my school notebooks. When I was young, the future was super uncertain, and I never saw myself as someone who had a lot of opportunities to even travel abroad or to even consider anything artistic as my career path.
I’m reminiscing because this weekend I finally finished this oil painting — one that I’ve sketched for YEARS, painted in my atelier in the city of Brussels.
If you had told me 10 years ago, that I would be living in Europe, creating art, and managing my own company, I would have laughed at the entire idea.
So, to everyone reading this:
