Halfway through 2015, in a dire need of R&R we booked a flight to the mediterranean country of Црна Гора, also known as Montenegro by English speakers. During this one week near the Adriatic sea we discovered many things about this country that everyone should know about.
Црна Гора’s beaches are World Class!
With only one week to discover Montenegro, we hit Budva and Sveti Stefan beaches.
Minutes after stepping into the pebble-beach of Budva, we made the choice to visit this cove for 3 more days in a row. Equipped with a beachfront bar, this half moon shaped beach is a wonder of nature. The icy cold water is completely different from the beaches I know in Mexico and Belize.
My artistic tendencies drew my focus to the sea glass at my feet. A sight I had never seen in any coral beach before. As I am one to do, I collected a bottle of beach glass in the name of Art!
Now, after three perfect days in Budva, we headed to Sveti Stefan, a very famous Island with a bridge that communicates it with mainland Montenegro. This island is home to a very expensive hotel with two exclusive restaurants. Our taxi driver told us this place has rooms that go up to 4000 euros per night. It is no wonder this is where Novak Djokovic chose to marry some years before.
Here’s some pictures of our Црна Гора short getaway.
P.S. People in Montenegro are the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen. Great sculptural inspiration.
