Ozymandias at Burning Man and the first picture I took while sculpting it.

By April 10th of this year, I had cut hundreds of random length aluminum tubes that would become a massive sculpture.

I’m extremely proud of the sculpture I built, and the community that saw it come to life at @leftofcentergallery

Still waiting to hear back from Reno police, the RTIA and the Reno Sparks Convention Center about the CCTV footage of Ozy getting destroyed.

I felt it was important to display the remains of Ozymandias at the RTIA show. Swipe through to read my full artist statement, which is displayed with the piece.

We are obviously still reacting to this situation,

We are obviously still reacting to this situation, and I want to be sure we do this properly. But I want to express how heartbreaking this is. As artists, our art is a physical representation of our time, lived experiences, relationships, culture, and so much more.

Every weld on Ozymandias is a moment of my life, it’s an investment from myself into the art. I can’t help but feel disrespected, having brought my artwork to Reno, to the @rtiashow and seeing it treated this way. Yes it was stolen, but to be stolen, it first had to be neglected.

We are of course filing a police report and going through the proper channels. Thank you to everyone who has reached out so far.
